Services – Boarding School Program
EDUCATIONAL FUTURES offers a comprehensive, personalized program to assist families with the process of considering, applying to and deciding upon the independent secondary school option.
These are the major activities and steps that comprise this program:
- Initial consultation or teleconsultation with the family to review needs and objectives (see Personal Consultation)
- Evaluation of educational records, diagnostic testing and writing samples
- Recommendations of appropriate schools for consideration
- Test preparation recommendations for entrance exams
- Preparation of itinerary for visits, including personal appointments, domestic travel and lodging arrangements, directions and maps
- Preparation for interviews
- Briefing and debriefing before and after visits
- Assistance with preparation of applications and essays and all supporting documentation (letters of recommendation, transcripts, etc.)
- Review of all final application materials before submission
- Liaison with schools applied to for the purpose of clarification and support of application
- Meetings as needed with the student and/or family throughout the process
- Review of school choices and consultation regarding the final decision
- Other assistance as necessary to ensure a satisfactory result
- Support is available until the student is settled into school
