We always attempt to maintain ongoing contact with our clients out of interest, friendship and close personal relationships developed in our work with them. However, when we are engaged by the student's parents, there is no ambiguity as to our role.

In order to be effective, we must have the cooperation of the student to act as an "advisor". The role of EDUCATIONAL FUTURES is one of responsibility and support for the student on a consistent, professional basis to assist with normal academic and social adjustments.

Within the limitations of time and distance, students will meet with the staff of EDUCATIONAL FUTURES on a regular basis, both at their schools or at our offices in New Canaan. Selection of courses, grade goals, time and budget management, participation in extra-curricular activities, establishment of priorities and other adjustment issues will be discussed during these meetings.

Upon commencement of this service, EDUCATIONAL FUTURES will be accountable to the parents by providing regular progress reports and availability by telephone.

EDUCATIONAL FUTURES is committed to turning over control of planning and the decision making process to the student as quickly as possible, but is willing to offer assistance during an interim period of adjustment.
